This is the first of several City Guide posts. I spent 4 years in Portland, OR and feel that I might be able to provide prospective visitors (such as yourself) with a rockin’ itinerary for a fan-freakin-tastic town!
Texas knows a thing or two about barbeque (that rhyming was intentional!).
“You are in a spot that is absolutely safe, with one exception: the danger created by your own fear.” – Paulo Coehlo
This timelapse was one of my first attempts with the GoPro. It was taken from my favorite sunset spot, my parent’s backyard in California. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the concept of fear, and what it means to be afraid. Living in a new place may often push you to fear being alone, or to fear that being as happy as you were is no longer attainable. But I think that Paulo summed it up really well in “The Pilgrimage,” that fear is personal and purposeful, but often times unnecessary. We focus on what’s wrong or what’s altered in our lives and that creates fear. But maybe if we simply embrace our fear it can serve us. For all of you Doctor Who fans out there, the Doctor summed fear up amazingly as well. Check it out! Fear is a superpower.
Last night we found an urban oasis.
It’s no secret, I LOVE California. It’s where my folks are, so it’s where my heart is. But it’s also beautiful, and the weather rocks!
We found a beautiful perch for sunset watching last night.
My friend and I were passing through Austin on the 35 when, all of a sudden, HUNGER STRUCK! Thank God for smartphones, “Siri, what restaurants are near me??”
Here are a few pictures to put my weekend in perspective. In case you can’t tell, it was pretty rad!
We begin the way all good things begin…with a little Beyonce.
This past weekend, I had a true Texan experience.
I’ve never done a link post, but I absolutely love them! Life is about sharing wonderful treasures, so here are a few of my current favorites.
These two ladies have such lovely blogs. Truly, a couple of artists. I love reading their posts and looking at their pictures in the morning with a cup (or 5) of coffee.
I’m moving to a new apartment next month, so research is key in the next few weeks!
We can always learn from the greats!
John Mayer, Born and Raisesd
This album is gorgeous, it reminds me a bit of 1970s singer/songwriters. Great easy listening.
Care to share? I’d love some new treasures!
