Travel Texas: State Capitol

Austin has already gained a special place in my heart, and I think that’s due to it’s many similarities to Portland.

Today, our adventures strayed away from the weird and were more of the dignified breed of tourism: the Texas State Capitol!

After lunch and drinks at Moonshine, Alex and I walked all over downtown, peaked in some of the nicer hotels at their Christmas decorations, and landed at the Capitol.

We came to several important conclusions as we wandered the grand halls of this impressive building.

First, if a star can be placed on an object, a star WILL be placed.

Second, in order to have your portrait hung in said great halls, you must have some really gnarly facial hair. It is known.

After touring the Capitol, we walked down to the waterfront and enjoyed the sunshine.
