I woke up early on Christmas morning like I always do.
The tree looked especially beautiful with morning light floating through the downstairs windows.
As soon as everyone had gathered in the family room, and had a cup of coffee in his/her hand, we passed around presents, and I snapped photos like a mad woman.
After the paper had settled, and Rudy had made a nest, our tummies started rumbling. Waffles, bacon, and mimosas were on the menu. Only problem we ran into was a lack of orange juice. But did that stop us from popping a bottle of champagne? Heck no! I searched high and low in the pantry and found a jar of orange marmalade….that’ll work, right? And it sure did! Looked beautiful and tasted awesome!
Just give your guests a long spoon so that they can mix everything together post-presentation!
After breakfast, Julia and I ran out the door for walk through wonderland! With all of the rain in California over the past few weeks, the fields surrounding Mom and Dad’s house have turned emerald green!
A magical ending to my trip to California.
