Three generations on a mountain road trip.
We decided to take a day trip into the Sierra Nevadas. Usually when traveling through Gold Country, our purpose is to end up in Lake Tahoe or Squaw Valley, but this time we drove out to Truckee.
It’s a cute little ski town, nestled in a valley. Very storybook.
We wandered the streets.
Window shopped with the best of em.
And had delicious food at the famous Squeeze In.
Yeah I had never heard of it either, but the aliens sold me on it. Apparently Bobby Flay had an omelette cook off here.
I love restaurants like this. Tiny little space, jam-packed with random crap. Bicycles hanging from the ceiling, stickers and signatures on every flat surface. Slanted, creaky floor. And the food was great!
There’s nothing better than twirling about and seeing evergreen covered mountains in each direction! If you haven’t been to Truckee, take a trip!
And don’t forget to check out Donners Pass! For those fans of gruesome tales, the Donner party was traveling west to what we all know and love as California and got stuck during a bad storm. In order to survive, they resulted to….cannibalism. Yum! Wild, right??
