This morning I had the horrible realization that I haven’t posted a thing about my lovely adventure in Lake Tahoe in…..wait for it…..July.
Yes, bad blogger, bad!
But I have been distracted as of late, Hawaii, Redwoods, planning another trip (hint: it rhymes with Wisney Dorld)…..but there’s no excuse! Beautiful places deserve posts!
Before Julia and I traveled to Hawaii, we had some Northern California adventures, and this was my favorite.
Lake Tahoe is about an hour and a half from my parents’ house. We got up early, grabbed some coffee and headed for the foothills.
Tahoe is one of those places that you have trouble believing exists. The water is an indescribable shade of blue. It’s completely surrounded by snow-clad mountains, and the smell of pine trees floats gently down to the shore.
Even as clouds role across the sun, the shadows they cast are serene, allowing the blue to transform to a deep purple.
Dad opted to stay on shore, but us ladies took to the water and paddled for as long as we could. Unfortunately, the serene clouds decided to produce a bit of a storm and we had to turn back.
But that was a lovely excuse to take refuge in a restaurant and have a delicious meal. It’s difficult to go wrong eating in Lake Tahoe, just pick a place near the water. The views will blow your mind. Unfortunately, I did not grab any pictures of the food, so you’ll have to use the most delicious parts of your imagination!
Get out there my lovelies!
