Well I didn’t go to Disney World like I had originally planned, but a trade was made…east coast for west!
When my Mom and Sister suggested San Francisco for our weekend trip, I was stoked. Golden Gate park, the bridge, Coit tower, all the waterfront in the bay…..*dreamy sigh*
Such a beautiful and magical city.
We had a great drive to the City; sunny, 70 degrees. It really was perfect. We came in on the North side, driving across the golden gate bridge with every intention of finding the hotel and THEN exploring. But one wrong turn and an unmade lane change later and we were headed south to Golden Gate Park.
“Turn left in 300ft,” Siri happily chirps from my phone. We look up at the streets signs…no left turn. Ok, we’ll hit the next left. NO left turns. Apparently left turns are not a thing in San Francisco.
We eventually found our way into the park and popped out for a stroll through the Tea Garden. However, the Tea Garden quickly lost it’s allure when we heard live music and chatter coming from the lawn across the way.
Families were snapping pictures of each other with piles of leaves, and dogs chased each other as we moved from music to pop-up art galleries, to the observation tower at the art museum.
And after a slight navigation error (I took us to the wrong Marriott), we found our hotel. The concierge checking us in was slightly concerned when we explained the part of town that we originally thought we were staying at. “Oh that’s the Tenderloin, please please don’t go over there again!”
We made it to the safety of our room, and after a few drinks at the rooftop bar, passed out.
Stay tuned for more adventures from San Francisco!
