We woke up early to do some proper exploring, and first on our list? Chinatown.
San Francisco is a pretty walkable city if you stay anywhere near Union Square.
We made our way through the square and up a few streets to the Chinatown gate.
You’re greeted by some pretty goofy shops. Cell phone cases, meme pillows, pairs of socks….all in giant baskets lining the street. A bit funny, but still fun to browse through.
Farther up the street, closer to the waterfront, you’ll find the “real Chinatown.” Markets full of questionable pharmaceuticals, buckets of dried up sea cucumbers…the list goes on.
After exploring Chinatown, we found ourselves in North Beach, the “little Italy,” of San Francisco. We stopped for pizza at Tony’s, and let me tell you, BEST PIZZA EVER!!!
Fig preserve and a balsamic reduction top this delicious and award winning pie. And the meatball appetizer was pretty delightful too!
Another great day!
