This is the first of several City Guide posts. I spent 4 years in Portland, OR and feel that I might be able to provide prospective visitors (such as yourself) with a rockin’ itinerary for a fan-freakin-tastic town!
Does this look like a pile of troll entrails? Maybe.
But it is my pleasure to share with you the strangest thing I have eaten: Squid Ink Pasta with roasted red peppers, and hazelnuts, garnished with a raw (yes, raw) egg. Thanks Toro Bravo of Portland, OR for the spectacular meal.
I cannot even tell you how many times I have seen the sun illuminate Forest Park and the St. John’s Bridge as it took its descent for the night.
Walking is one of my absolute favorite activities.
Almost everyone has gone home for Easter holiday, so campus is quite empty. Not that I’m antisocial, but there’s something beautiful about a college campus when there are hardly any students wandering around. That being said, early this morning I decided to take a long stroll at the University of Portland. Walk along with me? I’d love some company!
Here are the pictures I snapped along the way…
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have moved into the era of marriages and babies. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great! Weddings, moving away, new adventures…
That being said, as I write this, my housemates and I are all sitting around watching Mulan.
Anyway, last night was my lovely friend Anne’s bachelorette party. Portland, OR was the stage for our evening!
We started at our hotel, getting ready for a night out on the town, all in celebration of this lady and her upcoming marriage!
Here’s how our night played out…
Tamales, pizza, baileys? Check, check, check. You don’t have to be a hobbit to partake in 2nd dinner!
I am a lucky lady.
Mom called me last week to tell me that she had a free weekend (or made her weekend free) and was coming to visit me! J and Grammy were able to fit in a girls’ weekend as well. Now that’s a party! 3 generations of related ladies! Needless to say, we had some adventures.
In an effort to continue gaining weight, following Grammy’s birthday dinner we rolled on down Alberta St. to Salt & Straw.
A.K.A. Some of the BEST ice cream I have ever had.
I know I have blogged about La Petite Provence before, but it seems that EVERY TIME I go there is a new reason to report back to you fine folks.
Food, drinks, and an accordion player???
There is almost nothing I love better than a good ol’ farmer’s market.
